Nintendo Testers

Josh, Morgan and Zach are now Nintendo game testers.  Well, they were for a few hours yesterday…  Our neighbor, Yumi, works for Nintendo and they were looking for kids to test one of their new games.  So she thought of our kids.  All three ended up going over yesterday (Friday), right after school and each spent about 30-40 minutes playing a new Nintendo DS game (can’t say anything more about it than that…we’ve been sworn to secrecy!).  The kids got to wait in one of the facility’s break rooms while one was doing the testing.  The break room was outfitted with several game consoles (including Xbox…they have to evaluate their competition!) and the kids’ favorite was Rock band.  They also got a bunch of snacks and were given a bag of goodies as a thank you.  One of the things they got was a little square container, yellow, with question marks on the sides.  Inside were little yellow coin shaped candies!  Zach said, “I need Mario to open this box!”

Gymnastics and Volleyball season

Morgan’s been in 4 meets now, starting better than she ended last year and increasing each time. Should have some video to show sometime soon, probably post it on Facebook.

Zach, meanwhile has started playing Volleyball with the 5th graders at St. Catherine’s. This is the first time they’ve played. They’ve won a game and they’re improving fast!

Basketball ends strong in February

Morgan’s team takes second in the championship! The St. Catherine’s and Fairview 6th grade girls team did a great job through the playoffs and ended up in the final game of the season. They were facing the absolute best team in the league and the final game showed that, but we played hard and made a good showing. Second place is pretty good in that situation.

Morgan’s Gymnastics

Morgan’s been doing great in Gymnastics and still really loves it!  Though we’re still working on getting her to practice at home, she puts her heart into it when she’s at the gym and has been doing great at her AAA Little League meets!  She’s been recommended for promotion to the level 4 class and plans to put in 9 hrs of gym time per week starting this summer…  I’ve posted condensed videos of her performances at the last two meets that she’s attended.  They’re in .wmv format as that seemed to be the best way to condense the videos down to a managable web size with the video tools I have on hand.  Hope to move them to DVD at the end of the season.

I’ve also put up her scores on her sports scores page for gymnastics.
