TBI Baseball Camp – 2

Josh loved the camp so much that he wants to go back.? They gave us a great deal of $200 off the normal $425 price.? Josh was hoping that a couple of good friends that he made last week would be back also, but we didn’t see them when we dropped him off.? But, he’ll do great anyway.? He came back with so many great stories!

This is also TBI’s last year in business.? Declining enrollment and then the sudden death of one of the partners made continuing no longer an option.

RUG All-Stars – Quick season

Well, it was a quick season for the RUG 9-10 year old All-Stars.? They played two games last weekend…and are now out of the tournament.? They were hard losses, too as they were 5 runs ahead in the first game until the 4th inning and 1 run ahead in the second game until the 6th inning.? Josh pitched the first 5 and 1/3 innings of the second game.? He did an awesome job, throwing only 50 pitches and letting in only 1 run!? He was also involved in all three of the RUG team’s runs, either batting them in, or being the runner making it home.? He added some spice to the game as well, getting out of pickles between 3rd and home, twice before he was tagged out the third time it happened. :-)

On with the rest of the summer, now.? Josh still isn’t done with baseball!? He’s going to be going to? the TBI Baseball camp? in Ephrata, WA for a week!? Zach and Morgan will be joining GrandDad Loren and Grandma Dora up at the Double-K family camp that same week.? Nice summer break for Mom! :-)

Championship and All-stars!

Well, they did it.? The Royals not only made it to the Championship, but they won it as well.? And won it with style.? Josh played well, the whole team played well, and as a team, they really came together and did a great job!

The BBQ party after the game at the Parks’ house was also a great success.? Lots of food!? Lots of fun!? The video that we put together was a real hit and there was a great time of giving out trophies and coach gifts.

Josh, Webb, Henry, and Andy from the team have all been nominated to the All-Star team for RUG.? Webb apparently has other plans this summer, but the other three are ready to go!? We discovered that Tyler, our Royals coach will be working with the Wolverines coach (2nd place team) to coach the minor league All-star team this year.? Yay, Tyler!? We’re looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Royals Playoffs Championship Game vs Wolverines

We hope we’ll get this far!? Yeah,? I think we will!? :-)

This game will be played at the Husky Softball Stadium down by Lake Union!? Pretty cool!

Well, we made it to the championships!? And we won the championship! Way to go, Royals!!!? Josh brought in 3 runs with a single and a double, going 2 for 2 for the game.? He also followed Webb’s great pitching and closed the game with two no-score innings.? The game ended with a great play by Shinta, Ethan and Andy.? Shinta picked up a dribbler from the batter, threw to Ethan at 1st to get that out, then Ethan fired to Andy who grabbed the ball and tagged the runner from 3rd for the 3rd out!? Exciting!

A great game.? A great season.? Many thanks to the RUG Little League.? We have no idea what all it takes to make this happen, but it’s sure to be a lot.? We really appreciate it!

Royals at Wolverines Playoff

The second playoff game for the Royals will now be on Tuesday.? Since the Saturday games were rained out, those games will need to be played on Monday, pushing our game date? back as? well.? That game needs to be played to determine who we will? play.? Keep checking back for updated info!

We played the Wolverines this game and, wow! was it a nailbiter!? The Wolverines took an early lead, getting one run in the first inning and then again in the 4th, while keeping the Royals completely at bay.? We only got 3 hit in the first 5 innings!? However, in true Seattle style, the came back in the last inning, two outs! and made 6 runs in, pulling a win completely out of the hat.

Playoffs

Well, Josh’s team, the Royals are now in their playoffs for the Championship.? They won their first game on Friday against the Pirates and? a very tough game it was, too, I might add…? The Pirates were really fighting for the win this time and it was a very low scoring game.? Both teams did excelling pitching and fielding.? It was a fun game.

If the Royals pull off another win this Tuesday, they will have a place in the Championship game on Saturday, June 16th.? And that game will be held on the Husky softball stadium!? Pretty fancy!

Meanwhile, Leigh and I are hard at work again putting together a nifty video of the kids’ accomplishments throughout the season.? Fun, but a lot of work!? :-)

PNA Junior Camp @ Double-K Ranch

Josh and Morgan and their friends get to attend the PNA Junior camp this year! (Josh went last year).? It’s a ton of fun and they’re both really looking forward to it.

Josh’s Baseball camp went so well and they offered a major discount for a second week, that we decided to send him back to that instead.
