Anne
Had a great time at Benton’s production of Anne at the Lakeside Middle school this evening. The kids did a great job singing and pretty good at acting. It was a fun time and very enjoyable.
A Christmas Carol
Our family is yet again involved in the production of A Christmas Carol at the Fairview Church. Josh and Morgan appear first as urchins attempting to solicit a scrap of generosity from old Mr. Scrooge, then they later reprise their roles as Peter and Mary Cratchett. Leigh and I of course return as the laundress who robs Scrooge after he is dead, and Joe, the upstanding citizen to whom she sells her goods. Our production opens on Friday, Dec 4th and again on the 5th, so this week is crunch week! Trying to figure out all our places, finalize lines, arrange for lights and sound effects. Crazy week indeed…but with good results.
Hello world!
Just started a new “venture” of hosting WordPress websites. So of course, the first thing I needed to do was to get my own websites moved over! So here we are! Looks like it’s been a whole year since I put anything up here at all! I think that’s probably about when I joined Facebook… Anyway, it’ll be a lot easier to keep the support structure for this website up to date now and I’m learning a LOT about WordPress with through this project with Fairview. Hope to have more here soon.
Crazy months
Posted by Kevin Tucker in General, Kids on November 5, 2008
Well, it’s definately been busy around here. School starting in September, sports, sports and more sports, music lessons, choir, and lots of work. Josh is the only one that continued in Cross Country this year, running with his team-mates from St. Catherines for the past 5 or 6 years. He ran in all three meets, increasing his speed each time. Both Zach and Josh played in the CYO soccer league this year, and both were assets to their teams. They both seem to prefer defense, but when they’re put on offence, they really drive for the goal. Josh made several goals this year and did well in his one stint as keeper. His usual contribution in the games was to get the ball away from the opposing offence and kick it back down the field. Zach really enjoyed being keeper this year and made some spectacular dives for the ball, doing a great job of protecting his goal.
Morgan has continued with her 9 hr/week gymnastics schedule, sometimes taking some time out to get some extra homework done. Her competitions start next year in January, starting with one in Hawaii (which she will be missing this year due to lack of funding…hey, if the parents can’t go, she can’t go!
She and Zach are in the Fairview Kids Choir, practicing on Wednesday nights to get ready for their big show in December. She’s got a big part in the “Don’t Be Afraid Brigade” program as “Gabby”, one of the lead angels.
With basketball coming up for all three of them, they are having to cut back on some of their other activities. Josh and Morgan will be leaving the Tues night Tae Kwan Do class for Zach (and Kevin when he can make it between church/school meetings). They’re looking forward to lots of basketball practice in the next two months in anticipation of some heavy competition starting in January.
All three are also taking music lessons at the Seattle Drum School (Highly recommended! Great programs! Great Teachers!). Josh and Zach are learning the drums (no, we don’t have any at home…yet) and Morgan is taking voice lessons. They all seem to be impressing their teachers so far. Since they’re not allowed to play computer games at home without practicing their music, they do tend to get their 1/2hr per day done fairly regularly…
Zach is home schooled this year through the WaVa virtual academy program. This has created some interesting scheduling issues for his parents. Leigh’s now working only three days a week…one of them Saturday, and Kevin has Zach at work with him twice a week. It’s been an interesting ride so far getting use to the program and the schedule. Of course, when Zach is cooperative with the schoolwork, the days go much easier. Some days are better than others…
We had fun at the recent Fairview Harvest Party and with carving our pumpkins. Have some pics uploaded to my Facebook Album.
That’s all for now!
RUG Majors All-Star Tournament Game #1
Josh’s first game is this Saturday, 3pm, at the Shoreview #2 field. Come and cheer on Josh and his team!
We’re back!

Had a bit of a blackout with changes to the website for the past few months. Busy schedules plus needing to move the site to a new host combined to keep things from working correctly for too long. Hope to catch up here.
Thanksgiving in Spokane
Posted by Kevin Tucker in General on December 24, 2007
We spent the week of Thanksgiving in Spokane.? Not only do we have family there, but it seems, ever increasing numbers of friends as well!? We were? able to spend time with our friends, the Gibsons, who had their three kids (similar ages to our kids)? in Fairview the past couple of years while Michelle was teaching there.? They’ve found a beautiful home in a very nice neighborhood where the boys have a great little wooded area to build forts and explore.? We got to visit briefly with Jill Patrick and her boys.? Todd couldn’t get out of his work at UPS…? And we had a very nice dinner with Rick & Joy and their kids.? It was great to get a chance to see everyone!
And of course, we had time with the cousins!? Jason, Caleb, and Derek were able to join us for Thanksgiving dinner along with their Mom, Louise.? Alex had to work.
.
Omi put me to work.? She’s really been wanting to have a website put together so she could start selling her goodies online.? We spent quite a few hours putting the site together: http://www.yakysgoodies.com. Now we just need to figure out how to sell stuff through it!
Busy!

Been way to busy to post what we’re busy doing!? Now that I have a moment or two, I thought I’d try and catch up…
Pumpkin Carving Fun!
Posted by Kevin Tucker in General, Kids on October 28, 2007
One of our family traditions…and what little we do celebrate of this season…is to carve jack-o-lanterns together the weekend before Halloween/All Saints Day.? Click here for the full picture gallery.
It’s fun and it’s creative and it’s an interesting marker in seeing the kids growing up.? This year, Josh was able to do his entire pumpkin all by himself!? Morgan got to use a knife for a few things for the first time, and Zach took a lot more initiative in creating his.
Sports, sports, & more sports
Ironic to think that I, shunning sports and even P.E. while growing up, should have such athletic kids!
This is a very busy fall with all the kids participating in numerous sports activites.? Josh & Zach are both strong players on their soccer teams, playing in all positions.? Morgan is still involved in gymnastics as a part of the League AAA team at Seattle Gymnastics and, numerous meets are coming up soon!? All three of them have decided to do cross country this year, Morgan & Josh running a mile and Zach the half mile.? Morgans has been especially determined with this as running is definately not her favorite sport, yet she has endured numerous training runs during the summer and has already finished well in her first cross country meet this last Sunday!
The family sport now is Tae Kwan Do, excluding Leigh due to her back.? All the kids & I tested for their yellow belts at the beginning of September and passed!?

Take a look at the kids sport pages for their achievements!
